Welcome to my page of pictures from Australia. This has been a fun trip as I spent the first week in Byron Bay, a small sea-side town .. and possibly one of the nicest places on the planet. While at Byron we took a day trip up to DreamWorld to ride some fun coasters, and stopped off in Surfer's Paradise on the way back. Surfer's is quite the horrid little place now, but the beach is still magnificent (even though it's in the shade most of the afternoon!!). We used to spend summer vacations in Surfer's when I was a kid.
Back in Melbourne, I spent some time walking around the neighborhood into which my parents recently moved. The suburb of South Melbourne is one of Melbourne's oldest, and contains some amazing Victorian terrace houses - many were built in the mid/late 1800s.
On Friday December 13th (SCARY!!) I went to the final RRR Breakfasters show, which was broadcast from the St. Kilda Bowling Club. This was a fun show, even though it was sad to see John Safran say 'GoodBye'.
Then it was down Mornington way for some aMAZEing fun!.
Finally, two days before returning to Chicago, I made it to Luna Park! Note that this was near the top of my list of stuff to do, and I almost didn't make it!
Please enjoy these photos, or return to the Australian photos.
