Big Dipper

Blackpool Pleasure Beach was my other most anticipated park, and (like Alton Towers) it did not disappoint. This place was amazing! Two of my favorite parks are Indiana Beach (in Indiana) and Kennywood (in Pittsburgh). Blackpool is like a mix of both of these. Stuff is built all over the place, everywhere you turn there are 10 more awesome looking rides, and most of the rides are historic landmarks.

The park really rolled out the red-carpet for us too. With ride time on Big Dipper, Roller Coaster, Pepsi Max Big One, Steeplechase and Avalanche (that's a total of 5 hours!). They also threw us this massive welcome reception, with food (pot-pie), and drink (beer, wine and soft-drink). They even gave us one room at the pub next door for some British pub-trivia, and a Theme Park Review inspired Coaster pub-trivia. It was really, really fun. And so very impressive for a park to do so much for such a small group.

Due to the high density of rides and buildings, there are pathways running all over the place. Up, down, over, under, etc. There were times were we were five steps from a ride, and didn't realize it. It's tough to explain, although anyone who's been to Indiana Beach will have some idea.

I went a bit bananas with the camera, so enjoy all the photos! Be sure to check out the "official" Theme Park Review Blackpool Pleasure Beach photos.

Or, you can return to my Coasters/Park gallery..
