Thunderbolt
Thunderbolt was built by Meisho Amusement Machines. It opened in 1982 and was finally put out of its misury in 2003. This thing was rough, really rough. I've also never heard a coaster make quite the same (not good) noise - it sounded as if all the wheel-bearings were in desperate need of replacement. Don't worry, I'm sure it was perfectly safe .. just old and tired.
I remember, as a kid, when this coaster was new .. many of my friends had ridden it and loved it. I was too scared to even think about it .. and every time we'd go to Surfers Paradise I was worried that I'd be dragged up to Dreamworld by my friends. How things have changed!
