1993 Corrado SLC
Driving home one night I saw an odd looking VW parked on the street, so I actually pulled over to get a closer look at it. It was a Corrado, and I was amazed by how awesome it looked. I'd seen plenty of pictures of C's, and knew about their legendary coolness; but seeing one in person was just something else. Of course, I had to have one! I looked around for a few months before finding one. I was a little nervous because of the Corrado reputation for being tempremental, coupled with the fact that this would be my second car (I didn't plan on selling the Jetta). A fun/weekend/summer car, if you will. The car was great .. The VR6 motor is one of the best out there, and the Corrado was actually the fastest production VW made until the W8 Passat came out in the very late 90s. It was only slightly more powerful than the same engine in the Jetta, but the car was lighter and felt a whole lot more responsive. As far as reliability goes, it did strand me once .. when the heater-core blew. Nasty. Now for the nerdy pictures:
