Alton Towers: The Towers (walk-through)
The Castle is open and available for a walk-through. This was pretty great (as the insane number of photos show!). The inside has been stripped pretty bare, but the different balconies outside were amazing.There were signs up everywhere talking about how they're spending obscene amounts of money working on the Castle. I'm not sure if they are restoring it, or just working on it to stop it from falling down. Apparently the signs have been present for many years.
This gallery is mainly from the walkthrough. I have created a separate gallery for external shots taken while walking around the park.
The photos are pretty self-explanitory so there aren't many descriptions .. I mean, it's a ruddy great big castle, with a courtyard in the middle! Enjoy:
